Default Best paint, and way to paint interior plastic sections

I would like to paint the interior sections. The plastic pecies can be popped out. I've seen it done many times but some don't look near as nice as others.

Suggestions on the best way to properly paint interior pecies?

First off are the sections vinyl or plastic? Look up SEM color coat if your going to be painting vinyl. If it's plastic your basic spray paint should work just fine. In either case you may want to sand lightly over the pieces to smooth them out. Be sure to put some primer on it before you paint. After that just spray it on, not too difficult. Let me know if you have any more questions.

After painting it should I apply some type of clear gloss?

Well clear coating is much more important for your exterior paint, however you could certainly apply it to interior pieces. Honestly I haven't seen many people do it but if you want to go for it.

The reason I asked is a friend of mine Jeff, used some kind of clear coat and it looks pretty nice. He is actually going to paint my inside peices we bought the paint for auto zone. It's pretty much spray paint. It is the actuall color than a clear finish. Jeff did it and it looks great on his blazer so hopefully the blue will look good on my car.
